Goodwill Industries of Northeast Indiana is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that creates opportunities for people to achieve economic stability and to build strong communities by offering job training, employment services and other community-based programs for people who have disabilities, lack education or job experience or face other employment challenges. Goodwill provides services to a 10 county area in northeast Indiana.

Goodwill Stores help support this mission by generating funding through the collection and sale of donated goods.

We are looking for a dependable, community minded person to fill a Janitor position at our store located in Fort Wayne.

Responsibilities

As a janitor, you primary responsibility is to ensure the cleanliness of our retail store. You will also be interacting with donors and customers. Some duties to expect:

• Clean, disinfect, sanitize restroom and drinking fountains.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum or buff floors.
• Remove Trash
• Wash windows and mirrors.
• Clean Spills.
• Ensure safety of customers and staff by removing trash, snow, etc. from walkways and storefront.
• Maintain supply inventory and fill orders for supplies needed at other locations in our organization.
• Assist in other areas as needed.

Basic qualifications

• Have one (1) year janitorial experience.
• Be able to pass our background check.
• Be able to perform heavy lifting, pushing and pulling duties.
• Be available to work an assigned schedule, which includes evenings and weekends.

The starting pay rate for this position is $13.50 per hour. This is a Full Time Position (371/2-40 hours per week). Benefits include Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance, Paid Time Off (PTO), Holiday Pay, 401-K; and an employee discount.
